Born and raised in New York City, Cari is indie music to the core.
As a high school freshman, she was already in the game working as
an intern for the Red Hot Organization, a non-profit record label
that donated its proceeds to AIDS charities. While working toward
her marketing degree at Pace University, she continued to build her
music cred by starting CMG Artists, a booking and management company.
Cari has written for MTV.com, was street team coordinator for
TakeoutMusic.com and did college music promotions for Elektra Records.
Currently, she manages Cincinnati-based Oval Opus and does tour
marketing and event production for New York-based Everfine Records.
In 2003 Gelber co-founded DecentXposure with colleague Ben Hordell.
From a one-off compilation CD, the project has grown to include five
CDs, Xposure Magazine and the all-new DecentXposure.com website, which
helps independent artists market themselves through the sales of
ringtones, downloads, CDs and merchandise.

Another indie music prodigy, Ben started in the biz at age 14 when he started to promote local and regional bands in his hometown of Rockville, MD. He then graduated to street team rep for It’s A Gas Marketing and TakeoutMusic.com.
While en route to graduating from Miami University with Honors in Management and Marketing, he founded his own firm, Miami Music Promotion and started the street team for indie-phenomenon O.A.R.. After college, he matriculated to New York and a position with Everfine Records, where he handles creative services, street team coordination and lifestyle and youth culture marketing.
When not busy with DecentXposure and Xposure Magazine, Ben also serves as consultant to emerging artists.
